I made a request around 20 days ago to /v/subverserequest for /v/conspiracy and a few hours ago it was transferred: https://voat.co/v/subverserequest/comments/88335

I think /v/conspiracy can be something great. I'd like to help facilitate that. I made a post around the same time seeking input on ways that /v/conspiracy can improve itself. https://voat.co/v/Conspiracy/comments/90719 I think that or a similar post might be appropriate to sticky. Stay tuned while I get settled in. : ]

I think you must not be able to do both or have modded at the equivalent reddit sub. It doesn't seem right to allow this.

On a community discussion forum such as this, I firmly believe a mod is there to keep things civil when people wont, prevent thread drift, and make sure the discussions stay in the appropriate thread. There's no room for personal bias, agenda, or ego games. Think old school journalism ethics

Nothing wrong with having the same stuff on reddit; at least this way one doesn't have to check both.

What are ways this place can fall into the same trap? r/conspiracy is pretty cool anyways

Hey any interesting stories from moderating r/conspiracy ?

PrivateJoker

I've been a mod here for probably a year now and haven't had to do a single thing yet. Maybe it will pick up now that a new influx of people are moving over. Last time that happened we had a lot of Top Mind types coming here to try and disrupt things.

I've thought about it. I try and keep a pretty even keel when it comes to information and do my homework. Not much of one to fly off the handle with power. I modded on a single reddit. And I think I did a whole of 3 things on it. Cleared a post from the filter when it should have cleared. Banned one offending user for umpteen offences of the same nature after many warnings from many mods. I think the last thing I did was said sure to a new mod that seemed pretty cool and was a large contributor.
