It sounds like a weird configuration issue on your end. AFAIK Voat automatically switches all http connections to https. I'm not sure where the best place would be to ask for technical advice, but someone has just opened up /v/techsupport so maybe try there? Or if you're certain the problem is restricted to Voat, try replicating the problem in a couple of different browsers (or disabling all addons in your current browser) and report the results in /v/ideasforvoat .
