As it's practiced now? Hell yeah it's to blame. However, not all "Muslims" are as conservative and Dogmatic in how they practice it.

The ones that are are slowly losing support from within their own faith group and are slowly culling themselves or getting eliminated by us.

twee

Probably. Islam as it's practiced now needs to change or else risk birthing millions of atheists.

Drenki

What makes you think he would use his real name?

OneNutWonder

Pretty soon we'll find out he wasn't a regular at the bar too.

pray_the_gay_away

I will lose friends over my hatred of Islam, but I promise to spread it as far and wide as possible. This cult must be destroyed.

twee

Neither am I but I read biographies and am a news junky.

Peer pressure and family expectations are also a big part of the decision process. Nobody wants to get disowned or lose friends if they can just pretend to be like everyone else until they can't take it anymore and kill themselves to make the pain and shame go away.

An interesting thought experiment is thinking about how kids react to girls early on (they think they're gross) and how those same kids react to other boys who like girls.

twee

That fake account thing was fishy but all it takes is one opportunistic little shit who thinks they can make money quickly off of the news stations to make that happen.

twee

Not quite. Gay men have done that in North America for half a century and longer until the feelings towards homosexuality shifted in the last 10 years. The only thing that's changed is the technology available.

I can honestly point to a lot of articles about men divorcing their wives in favour of loving who they truly love (because they "can't take it anymore" or don't need to hide it anymore) or being divorced by their wives once they got found out (and arrested for indecent sexual acts/sodomy on the earlier days)

draaaak

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

perfect.

EDIT: well, I just read the article, and it proves almost entirely nothing. The initial laugh was real though xD

twee

Thank you for reading the article too.

I was actually stunned at the brass balls on u/dildonkers. I wonder if they spark when they clink together as he walks.

Let's see how many other people read it too before agreeing with it.

I think the upvoats on this post will let me know just how many gullible people there are on Voat.

MrPim

They're not even necessarily gullible. There are a Lot here who are very invested in the anti govt propaganda. Every shooting is a false flag gun grab filled w planted actors, or its a real shooting being spun. They need no evidence, just an allegation.

They are as bad as those who swallow all MSM news whole.

twee

I know. They're gullible as long as it furthers their own deeply held beliefs/ideas about what the world is "really like".

I've been downvoated many times for pointing out certain hypocrisies or, even worse, for not going out of my way to DIRECTLY demonized whatever the "daily hate" was about that day.

twee

Wtf, there's no denial of anything in that article.

They "CAN'T confirm nor deny" the he had an account with only the info they got from the news so far. It's only been a couple of days into the investigation.

Wow.. the title of this post is total bullshit. They ONLY talk about Jack'd, nothing else and don't bring up any "other app owners" that "come up and deny" anything.

He still used his religion to kill but wtf is this title about?! If you just read the damn article you can see for yourself that it has very little ACTUAL useful information and that the title of this post is bs.

MCVoat

Voaters desperately want to spin everything into muslim hate. The fact that LGBT is involved and this issue might be more complex than just allahu Akbar. They don't like it and are trying to steer the narrative that he wasn't gay because I guess that solidifies their stance that it was just Islamic terrorism and not just some angsty gay or anti-gay person.

Eliminating the other possibilities is a tactic to control the narrative. If this becomes an anti-gay hate crime then voaters can't use it to their advantage.

twee

But that's the crazy part! THEY CAN STILL BLAME ISLAM! It's just that they can't blame it EXCLUSIVELY at that point in time so they just ignore the more complex issue because it's easier for them.

It's like they keep drumming the same little snare drum while ignoring the rest of the drum set that they could also be using to make their point even more robust and poignant.

MCVoat

Welcome to voat. Unstable and inconsistent. Just how we like it.

twee

As long as we're all free to speak out about the ridiculousness of said instability, in fine with it.

The reason I left Reddit almost a year ago was because they tried to ram their views down my throat which could have AND DID end up in a much more censored conversation.

If we sacrifice freedom for safety we lose both.

HACKhalo2

I thought this was fucking fishy that the shooter was using gay dating apps...

Don't get me wrong, it's possible, but it didn't settle right with me, because why would someone who hated himself not only pledge the attack in the name of ISIS, but kill other people, and not himself? The puzzle pieces didn't quite fit right

twee

Jealousy, self-hate, family pressures and a religion that demands complete and militant devotion can really fuck a guy up mentally.

I think if he wasn't Muslim, and not able to latch onto the active homophobia and "jihadist" aspect of the religion, he would have killed himself sooner or later instead of killing others.

Don't forget: ISIS claims that all your sins will be forgiven of you truthfully turn away from them and commit the ultimate act of devotion to Allah.

MotherfuckingSausage

Static. We're being bombarded with misinformation to distort the truth. They did it with San Bernadino, but the narrative surrounding this attack seems much more convoluted. Why?

AlphaWookie

Because the narrative of "religion of peace" must be protected there is a lot of oil on the line and the presidency of the USA is on line and that includes legislation that will effect trillions of dollars. Wise up it is always about money, resources, and/or power. Politics is not that complicated especially if you know how to read public record government/think tank/corporate reports. There is no secret conspiracy just petty people acting on the same petty motivations that everyone acts on, the difference is they have power and money. The thing is by the time people actually read the publicly available reports and put it together what the agenda of the elite is they have already passed the legislation, signed the contracts, and taken there photo opt to clapping crowds.
