The Jenner "shock factor" brings in money. The other stories do not.

gatordontplaythatsht

They'll keep us focused on nonsense and each other, and nary will an eye wander up to meet theirs.

GhostDelorean

Huh, the only one I missed was the death of the bankers..guess that's why I don't watch news on TV anymore.

canadianguest

What about Akon supplying 600 million Africans with power? That's newsworthy.

Lightfromdarkness

Apparently he's not supplying them with power but merely setting an academy up to teach them how to install and maintain solar power systems. still it's good of him to do but it does take the shine off it a little when you see an headline like that.

The string of deaths of bankers is crazy. Makes me wonder if it is the Chinese government working to pave the way for China to become the global banking power.

mukt

... or some biggie in banking world is covering up something in the most efficient manner?

rollinstone123

Unlikely. There have been deaths in a lot of different firms and of people of varying status within their firms. Not to mention that a more efficient cover-up would be paying them off; killing people draws attention to the problem.

mukt

I agree with the unlikely part, but maintain that it is a credible possibility.

Some people (of varying status) cannot be bought and some people are scum enough not to be trusted even after they have been bought. Banks have intertwined businesses across each other, the staff in the know can have secrets shared across different banks. Killing people draws attention to the death, and if there is alternative hypothesis available, an otherwise well kept secret won't get exposed until there are enough deaths to get someone to look more closely.

Wow, I caught all those stories as they were reported. I feel really sorry for anyone who did not even know of their existence. Glad I ditched mainstream media a long time ago.

Joliet_Jake_Blues

Mmm, watching mainstream media I caught those stories too.

This is just a source crying about no one reading it. WIth links to its own stories.

chronos

What do you consider mainstream media? If you are on Voat, you would have seen these stories on the front page and that is not very mainstream. Are we talking CNN / MSN / Fox news kind of mainstream? Just curious.

Joliet_Jake_Blues

I saw most of these by watching Lester Holt on NBC Nightly News. The rest I heard on NPR.

chronos

Well I guess that's a pretty circle jerky title then. It is still a pretty good summary of news from this week. Thanks for sharing your perspective!
