No it is not.

Police: all these houses have been hit. Lets see what the geolocator data says. Oh look, this guy has been to all those houses. When you play pokemon go, you have consented to letting the world know where you have been. So they would have to not have the game, and that would make them look suspicious.

The scary thing about the US economy, is that if they did break into your house, they would most likely steal your detergent, not your appliances.

I suspect that they will take the data, see the parts of town people do not go to, then send the cops there. It is a great way to speed up "gentrification" (though i prefer to call it inverse desegregation)

Considering that it's the perfect chance for the nsa or whoever to track the exact location of millions of people in real time and learn their habits and geospatial info can be collected with no problem strange is a understatement. But that doesn't stop me from playing it

Although there is a lot of interesting aspects of Pokemon Go, there is not always a malicious meaning behind it. Example: this is a wonderful start at a generic AR (augmented reality) game that is able to be run on most mobile devices. The implementation of Google location data makes it neat and accurate. Very novel idea.

But if you take the intel approach, you can see very easily how Geo Spacial data can be collected voluntarily and super easy. Need some intel on a location? Place a gym or rare pokemon there and you're guaranteed to get foot traffic and pics.

You already have all the data on your phone it is apparently collecting - location, contacts, messages, emails, accounts, metadata. IOS is especially troubling as the Google API allows FULL data access, but with Android they already have it.

Sometimes I wonder "what's the point" as it seems to be part of the 21st century, you have to be monitored unless you take great and painstaking efforts to conceal online traffic.

This technology can very easily be used against us. But I'm not trying to say that was the intent for the creation of Pokemon Go. But as you say now it's possible to create a flashmob at any given location without even the participants knowing that they are part of it.

It seems humanity is one step closer in becoming the Borg. Mindless drones controlled by the hive mind Skynet.
