My that income equality is easier to preach than practice.

And?

He has pulled in nearly 200k for 17+ years. His wife as well has had some good income. They have not released values of liquid assets such as bank accounts, retirement funds, sock portfolios etc. Only real estate and a blurb on credit card debt.

Unless they have a massive cocaine habit, they would have to have a few million in savings.

Well, to spell it out (this is why we can't have nice things), Bernie claimed to be 'one of us" and represent the common person struggling to get by. His apparent media record would have you believe he's very modest and doesn't have a lot of money.

I don't know many people who drive an $80K vehicle and own 3 houses that claim to be 'average' and 'struggling.'

tl;dr: typical pandering of emotions to under-educated masses who need someone to associate with.

I don't recall him claiming to be 'average' or 'struggling'. His message has always been that money and the wealthy are causing a bad situation for all those who are struggling. His message was always about that.

In context of all this: He doesn't have three houses. A bit of semantics I know, but important for context. One of those properties is a cheap condo because that is a cheaper method than leasing or staying at a hotel.

As another reply mentioned, they also sold a bequeathed property that Jane had.

The insinuation in all of this is bribery. There is no evidence of that at all. There is no evidence of him violating his message either-unless people in question are projecting some sort of messianic image onto him instead of him being a man who is trying to do the best by as many as he can.

To add to it, they sold a home his wife's parents left her to get that place.

Took a min to find that-a detail a whole lot of people have been omitting. Thank you :)

I wouldn't mind living there.
