Thoughts on requiring sources/examples for self posts and secondary sources for links and video? ( conspiracy )

Just trying to think of ways to foster quality content or at the very least researched content. Might also help promote better conversion to require your reasoning for sharing a topic. Something that requires minimum effort but effort none the less. Then have a weekly free for all thread for all the fringe topics to act as a pressure release valve.

I don't think it's a bad idea for links, having at least one more source for the information. For self posts though, I think it's important to let people say what they can, a healthy discussion is a good thing, if it's a bad post, the comments will hopefully reflect that. And the megathread sounds like a good idea too.
