Well blame the british. They gave Isreal to the Jews and helped install the Zionist state. We could argue the justice or injustice involved, but the spoils go to the victor. But even that answer is short sided in respect that the Jews themselves where kicked out in similar fashion, so maybe this is just retribution. Life is complicated, but I don't think Isreal is being evil or anything or that the Palestinians are victims. Isreal wouldn't be so controlling if Hamas wasn't taking over.

AnarchyChad

Libya is more grey, but yeah, fuck Hillary. If I remember my history, Isreal has been attacked a lot by muslims and Palestine is part of Isreal but is being overran by Hamas organizations which want to kill all Jews. I'm not pretending to be an expert on the matter, but just because Isreal is more powerful doesn't make them evil. If Muslims had the power they would be doing much worse...killing all the Jews. So I reject the notion that because someone is more powerful that they have greater moral responsibility. Justice is separate from power and sees it equally. In that regard Palestinians have no moral or legal superiority. They are objectively worse just don't have the power to do the things they want.

AnarchyChad

How hard is it for you to imagine that Suddam was committing genocide and breaking the non aggression treaties that justified intervention? Or that these people have, will and always will hate westerners.

AnarchyChad

Nope. Completely wrong. They hate us for our way of life. They hate us because we are not muslims. They wish to wipe the earth of all westerners, even if we where super nice to them. The doctrine of Islam calls for it.

Le_Squish

If somebody kept dropping MOABs on my country no goddamn reason, I think I'd be pretty pissed no matter my religious affiliation.

AnarchyChad

Ok. Well while you have a point, this isn't happening in a vaccuum. This goes way way back. Shit is complicated. But, listen to the Jihadists. Read their magazines. They explicitly say that it's not about the bombs, it's about killing the sinners and carrying out their mission to god.

This is all bullshit. Sure, it maybe helps their recruiting, but don't be fooled. They would hate us just as much if we didn't have the Iraq war.

Le_Squish

I don't generally buy that.

Can't remember the author, but some dude went to Afghanistan and just asked people why they joined the Taliban, etc and most people said because they needed employment not because they were sympathetic to the fundamentalist cause.

AnarchyChad

K. That doesn't help your arguement, though. Also it doesn't matter if you buy it, it's fact. We can argue the level of significance. Obviously what we both are saying is 'true', I just argue the religious fundamentalist aspect makes up a larger %, than the retribution aspect.

They specifically point to things like gay marriage legalization for justification to increase their operation sizes and scopes.

Kinda, we're probably not gonna get anywhere, and I'm kinda rambling, but look into how courageous these guys are, and how they are able to do it. It's because they feel like messengers of God, and that no matter what happens the next life will be super amazing if they keep fighting, etc. The average soldier over their probably has a lot more grit than the average American soldiers, but obviously are technology is far superior, and technology has decided war since forever.

bourbonexpert

i know im in the wrong neighborhood saying this, but maybe if muslims didnt act like complete fuck tards we wouldnt bomb them...we dont bomb cuba, japan, sweeden, etc.....they dont act like assholes. they have a system of laws and an economy not based on a theocracy

Le_Squish

They had all that shit. Then they got uppity and started wanting to be treated like equals in trade agreements so we did a CIA on them.

salvia_d

We've been trying to take control of Cuba for decades. Castro holds the record for the most assassination attempt by the CIA.

bourbonexpert

cuba is a strange duck. or rather the US is...i always hear about kennedy etc...but wtf was going on in the 30s and 40s? why didnt the US have better relations with them back then? it seems like a no brainer to garner a good relation ship to prevent this horseshit from happening, especially after WW2.

it was a big vacation spot in the 50s, it was sort of developed right along with southern florida with the railways and standard oil (the breakers hotel comes to mind)

but there is a gap there that i missed. castro took over and fucked everything. seems like we could have prevented this.

salvia_d

You need to look into Cuba's history, I'm pretty sure you have it wrong. You should start at Catro didn't fuck up Cuba.

bourbonexpert

tell that to the thousands of political prisoners and the executed.

salvia_d

Mistakes were made but take a look at what Cuba was before the revolution. Controlled by the CIA, run by American gangsters and casinos, and illiterate. The revolution was a huge step forward for Cuba. Learn the history.

Bombs like "The war on drugs".

Empire_of_the_mind

We also use economic bombs, cultural bombs, bomb bombs, and cyber bombs.
