Interesting use of the red herring metaphor. Its origins, contrary to popular beleif, are not a means of throwing followers off the scent of the trail, rather the term comes from the different eating habits of different classes. In this case it is very appropriate. The different uses of these stories in the media is quite impressive. One story can simultaneously signal a voting suggestion to the masses, a threat or obfuscation to enemies, and something geopolitical to those outside our election. Even if the intentions are sinister I admire the subtlety and nuance.

I was thinking that they are trying to instigate a revolution like Euromaidan or the Arab Spring. They will embed themselves in the revolutionaries and will use the crisis to install a pro globalist government.
