For example, +-50% of Americans have smoked marijuana at some point. Marijuana prohibition would last about 5 minutes if we all had to suffer its consequences equally.

I'd vote to nullify an unjust or illegal law. Just because something is unjust doesn't mean it should be enforced. If it's unenforceable because juries always reject it, then it's still essentially gone. And either way the poor sap who happened to get caught may not deserve the life-ruining consequences.

This doesn't really solve anything and probably just encourages more idiots to do the same thing later on. Not that I don't disagree with what these guys did but IIRC even the locals in the area where getting a bit tired of the whole affair towards the end. You still have the issue of the government controlling large areas of land that grazers rely on for their livelihood. Brought about due to some accident of history. And the conflict that this is going to inevitably cause. Even if you don't agree with the way that they may have gone about it all these guys wanted to do was protect their way of life - this shouldn't be a crime - even if the way they went about it was misguided. Things ought to not have come to a head in the way that they did, just to protect the breeding grounds of the sprinkle spotted coyote or some shit.

Ideally you would want the parties involved in the dispute to get together in a room and fix this problem, like adults. But apparently America doesn't do this because everyone is too busy pointing guns and mouthing off to each other. To me this looks more like a cynical PR effort to prevent these guys from becoming martyrs so that later on down the line they can label them as being "domestic terrorists" to be disposed off. Hell the feds probably already have protocols in place so that next time something like this happens they can just go in guns blazing and then make up any story they want.

Basically they had to have a civil war to solve the issue of slavery in the end. While some jackoffs might relish the prospect of this - they're just jackoffs. Excuse me for being cynical but I think that the military industrial complex probably loves the prospect of war. How I imagine some cops are just itching to shoot people or otherwise abuse their authority.
