I'm prior military. The main reason I don't put any stock into conspiracy theories about the military being used to implement martial law/fema camps/etc. is because I know that most of the military would revolt and not carry out their orders.

Unfortunately I can say from experience a lot of people in the military, especially lower ranking people, are dumb, trigger happy goons. They would probably blindly follow orders to gun down civilians because they've been brainwashed into thinking they are fighting for some greater good.

IMHO this is the exact reason right leaning folks do not go into violent revolt mode. We'd only be fighting our own ... the cops and military are our folks, but would be tasked with putting us down. So the elites sit back and laugh as we kill each other. That's my take.
