the concern here is that by hiring these people they may end up influencing or corrupting him.

I presume you have worked with a whole host of different people, some real dirt bags and some good people too.

Was your innocence corrupted by working in a professional environment by people with moral convictions different to yours?

Now, consider that Trump is a 70 year old billionaire business tycoon who spent his life having fun but being a decent and honest person... Have you considered that Trump's skills with dealing with people and his moral convictions aren't a product of being sheltered from bad people and this 70 year old's innocence won't be "lost" by hiring brutal negotiators?

guinness2

i don't really buy this. if you lie down with dogs you will wake up with fleas.

I disagree because many people actually have moral convictions and aren't controlled by the thoughts in other people's heads.

Sincere question: if you needed specialist surgery on your spine and you had the choice of any doctor, would you choose the world's leading expert who has an ocean of skills and who is also a dirt-bag who doesn't pay his child support... or someone far less skilled who is a good man?

Sorry, but as a Ron Paul fan him hiring reince to do Chief of Staff is completely unacceptable. We are talking about the guy who robbed Ron Paul of the 2012 election at the RNC. Hiring him for anything is completely unacceptable. The guy should be in jail for treason against the country.

d3r

Never forget.

NotWearingPants

The lefties are all busy crying in their pillows, coloring and petting puppies to assuage their fee-fees, or resting up to go play in traffic and break shit tonight.

senpaithatignoresyou

All this will do is add pressure to make sure he drains the swamp. It will also blow up in the left's face like a bukkie time bomb.

NotWearingPants

Slow your roll, skippy. I'm talking about CTR's concern trolling. It's all they have left to try to reshape the narrative, and it's less likely to succeed than their previous efforts.

FYI, my political beliefs are slightly to the right of Ghengis Khan.

NotWearingPants

When you are reduce to concern trolling about things that might happen, you have lost the dialog.

NotWearingPants

Pretty weak sauce.

bdmthrfkr

WaPo and NYT have been screaming it too, not to mention 60 Minutes.

Anything they can do to kick his feet out from under him is fair game, including staging riots. IMO, he's already drained half of the swamp just by winning!

blackguard19

Priebus was not a good sign, but I could tolerate it. But if he appoints 9/11 co-conspirator Giuliani to Secretary of State, the Trump Train has been hijacked by Bush-era neocon warmonger terrorists.

frankenmine

That's not just a CtR tactic. I've been seeing headlines with that emphasis on most MSM outlets, including the AP and Reuters.

guinness2

Trump admits during his rallies that he'll be hiring some real dirt bags to do his foreign policy trade negations. He referred to them as terrible human beings that you'd never want to share a meal with, but they are genius negotiators.

I'm delighted for Trump to hire the most skilled people for his roles, irrespective of where they previously worked or if they are nice people.

guinness2

Trump admits he will be hiring the best people for the job: he's referred to some of these people in his rallies as "terrible people you'd never want to have dinner with" but as being genius negotiators.

BlackTara108

Straight from the jump when i 1st heard 'drain the swamp' used by Trump, I assumed it meant 'drain the swamp' of the commie, far leftist criminals. That's all I'd assumed by these words. Did people think, he'd appoint innocent, wide-eyed-babes & saints? The left is nitpicking. I won't. All we can do is wait & watch.

totes_magotes

NPR has been going about this shit like crazy. Fun fact: those faggots are funded by Koch. Go fucking figure.

SenecaTheYounger

The concern trolling on this is the worst I've seen post-election. There's never going to be a step that Trump will take that these people will not try to undermine at every turn.

I went to reddit and it's comical the /r/politics posts. Here's a headline from the Washington Post . For those who dont wanna click the image it's "Trump says 17-month-old gay marriage ruling is ‘settled’ law — but 43-year-old abortion ruling isn’t"

The takeaway here is that if Trump tries to appease these people at all they will immediately move the goal posts without a second thought. He cannot give them an inch unless he is promised something in return from here on out, anything else will be cucking out and he can't start doing that now.

bikergang_accountant

Any indications that this is CTR and not just concerned people. Not everything is CTR.

NamelessCrewmember

Random concerned person here. I've made similar comments, not a shill. Real clear politics has a good article that says as much, called trumps bait and switch.

sinjinsmythe

Unless they turn out to be right. Don't be lulled into a false sense of complacency on keeping the fire to the feet of the Trump administration. I have grown to really like the guy over the course of the campaign and that 60 minutes interview really enamored me to Trump and his family, BUT we must keep them accountable at all times.

Crensch

I don't have any problems holding him accountable, it's these constant, divisive, end-of-the-world, "I told you so" posts that need to fucking go.

He has not started his fucking job yet. Can we hold off on the pitchforks for a while and see if MAYBE the madman has a plan we don't yet see, instead of shoving a knife in his back at the drop of a hat?

sinjinsmythe

I don't disagree with you, I want to be enthusiastic and hopeful, I just know from experience that you can't take your eye off the ball or else. I hope he does right by us!

Crensch

Well, you have Washington Insider experience, and TheDon experience. Which applies?

MrPim

Yeah I've seen a lot of this. I just let it go, because it doesn't affect reality. I might start keeping track of FB friends who post it, just so I can point at them and laugh once it doesn't happen.

golgotham

Yep, this'll be standard operating procedure. The shills and their lib bosses have nothing BUT accusations to toss around now. Their power in this country is on a serious wane...

d3r

Israel still controls US, their power hasn't waned a bit.

Vladimir_Komarov

Shills like Ron Paul? M'kay then.
