Answer this question before you read further, and write down the answer. Did you start thinking much less clearly on that date? Are you remembering a massively lower amount of information now? Has your IQ objectively and drastically decreased?

There are hard limits to the amount of calculations the human brain can do in a set amount of time. If you are dying you are unable to process and experience information any faster. It would be silly to think the brain has a massive hidden reserve of processing power that' only available when it starts dying. Therefore unless your answers to the above questions were "yes", there is no way you're dying now. The amount of thinking you could do in a moment would have decreased ten thousand-fold. All the memories you have between then and now wouldn't exist. It would be as if 2001 were yesterday. All the things you've done in the last ten years... all the skills you've obtained, all the experiences, all the people. They are hard proof that you are alive.

I would have to say no, I am more or less (less) intelligent as I was back then, but the brains perception of itself is a tricky thing. If all this is in my mind the. There really is no objective standard to measure myself by.

There is a bigger theory similar to this in theoretical physics; that we are all in a computer simulation. In fact ,the odds are more in favor of this theory than the universe spontaneously becoming immensely ordered starting with the big bang. Much more by many orders of magnitude. Gets the gray matter trembling for me.

The only way I can know for sure is to jump off something really tall, if this is a dream I'll never land because a mind cannot imagine it's own death. If I'm wrong I die. That's the drawback.
