Baddies may want Julian Assange location confirmation. ( conspiracy )

If you were a baddie who wanted to confirm whether Julian Assange was still at the embassy, wouldn't the easiest way be to start a rumor that he's dead and WikiLeaks has been compromised? I'm not saying that the concerned individuals are baddies, I'm just saying that it's a logical alternative explanation.

If he snuck off of his own volition and hasn't reached a safe location, then demanding for proof of life would put him at risk. Again, I'm not saying that asking for proof of life is putting him at risk, but the possibility should be considered.

And if the baddies simply wanted to discourage him from sneaking off, what better way than get countless people to start stalking him 24/7?

Or if the baddies wanted to get a kill shot or just discredit WikiLeaks to stop people from sending them documents, what would be easier than to demand proof of life whenever he hasn't been seen for two days?

I reiterate that I'm not saying that people shouldn't be asking for proof of life, but rather that we should take into account the probability, even if it's less likely, that Assange has good reason for not giving proof of life at the moment.

Having said all that, if the baddies had already gotten him, then wouldn't a post like this serve to placate the people who are looking for him? Well I'd say I'd backed myself into a conspiratorial corner, but realistically my post isn't going to make anyone stop seeking a proof of life. I'm not a baddie, but that probably is what a baddie would say. In any case, carry on, but take comfort that there's a 20% chance that he and the rest of WikiLeaks hasn't been compromised. Or am I just saying that to convince you to not send him any more documents? Ok, I'll stop now. You all have a great day!

He's alive, otherwise they wouldn't say he's dead just to try and fool someone to fish out his whereabouts.

If they killed him then it's not them looking for him. But if he's alive, then it gives them motive to constantly stir the pot making people search for him, because that makes it harder to hide, harder to move, and contributes stress related illnesses. It also makes people question whether WikiLeaks has been compromised, slowing the rate of leaks. If governments wanted you dead, would you be comfortable providing the world with a proof of life every other day? There really needs to be a better way for people to verify whether WikiLeaks has been compromised. Him being the figurehead of the organization may be keeping him alive, and it may be putting his life at risk, but in either case or even if both or neither are true, he is in a position of tremendous prolonged stress and he's not immortal.

If assange was allowed to leave the embacy at all, I assume he would have needed state-level help getting out of the UK. Which is quite possible I guess. I also assume that state-level actor would likely be allied with Ecuador.

All that leads me to think that you need not worry about any schemes designed to draw him out of hiding, but thats just my two cents.

I dunno, I hear people are pretty good at smuggling people wherever they please. Getting him out of the embassy undetected seems like the riskiest part to me. After that, I'm sure it can't be all that hard for an organization to smuggle somebody. I mean, you could run through your plan as many times as you'd like with some dummy object at no risk whatsoever to see how well the plan would work. But it's hard to practice any plans at the embassy itself because there's such a higher probability of somebody watching and paying attention.

Can't argue with your logic, more complicated situations have unfolded in history. I hope he's still alive, time will certainly tell. Everything's just too fuzzy now.
