I don't think Trump is as far from Bernie as people might imagine. Bernie was the honest, old left. The communist crap bothered me, but ... he had actually thought about his tax strategy. Trump is riding the populist tide of "fuck this shit", which is a slightly less constructed version of Bernie. It remains to be seen what Trump does, but I'm sick to shit of his "supporters" thinking they've already been sold out. He has always refused to divulge his strategies. (What good is appointing a special prosecutor, when Buttcrack Obummer could issue a blanket pardon?) Trump seems never to give anymore than is necessary, which is probably a result of having spent his life trying to come in under budget.

When the left was building in America, it focused on good jobs. The problem now is that Democrats are a boutique, virtue signalling party that may cease as a national contender -- probably because it is more profitable to pander than win . I'm interested in Sander's restructuring of the party because if Trump focuses on "good jobs" the only platform the Democrats will have is perpetual dissatisfaction.
