We need to find the list of "happy" (or approved) keywords and sprinkle our truthful postings with them to see if they get through the Facebook/CIA reality censorship.

So they manipulated the news feed up-posting based on whether it was positive of negative to see how it affected the user's emotion.

They were able to determine that this in fact had an effect on the emotions displayed by users after reviewing their personal news feed.

I think the implications of this research are far-reaching. The way we consume information has a real effect on the attitude we carry throughout the day.
