I see two things at work here, and I am leaning towards the second, based on the evidence.

First, yes, they want to crack down on "fake news", i.e., any news source NOT themselves. Very self-serving and good for the bottom line.

Second, the MSM is talking about the same event, using THE SAME EXACT WORDS, across various networks. "Fake news", "Baseless accusations", "completely untrue". I heard these words spoken by an ABC News anchor, and then the next day, see a CNN clip where the anchor used the same exact phrasings. This means that talking points were sent out to all the MSM news rooms on what to say, and the MSM is just as orchestrated today as ever.

Unreasonable

Final nail in the coffin.

They don't understand the slightest about attention and inattention. Screaming at everyone to not think about giant Pink Elephants, only makes them think on that topic that much harder.

MSM is their own worst enemy. Of course that's true for all raging narcissists.

I think this is part of the "fake news" narrative, but discrediting anyone who talks about pizzagate is definitely part of the plan, too.

They'll have to bring down the interweb to reverse it. Anyone with even mediocre research skills, integrity, and a web site can outperform them.

Yep! The way they've handled this election cycle has definitely damaged their credibility. I don't think that's the only reason they're attacking 'fake news' now though. A lot's been invested by the elite to control the media as a propaganda machine. They're not happy about their control slipping away.

Nice. You millenial bastards can change it all.

Haha look at those dips on election years
