Jonestown: A CIA Operation ( conspiracy )

Anyone know about Jonestown? I know about Jonestown. I'm gonna spin you folks a yarn that's gonna be a bit convoluted but it's got a sort of method to it's madness. It all starts with a man who thought he could talk to God.Fellow by the name of Jim Jones. Inventor of the poisonous koolaid. He was a CIA agent.

Jonestown was a CIA operation. The guy who killed Senator Leo Ryan was a CIA agent.

Very good point actually. I'd probably take cyanide if my body was burnt to hell from a nuclear blast, as your chance of survival at that point is very slim anyway. Better a quick instant death than a slow agonizing one.

What would be the point of that? A. You're going to die anyway in that scenario and B. It's going to be instantaneous. Seems kind of redundant to take a suicide pill, why not just crack a beer and enjoy the show?

@1:04:50, Dwyer is "mistaken" for Ryan - they say that Ryan goes over to shake the pilots hand, but that's not Ryan, it's Dwyer - how does one make such a huge mistake? that's near impossible

@1:05:30 - this time the event is represented accurately - Dwyer talks to the pilot, not Ryan

my theory at this point is that Jones may have started out exactly as the mainstream version says; a somewhat fucked-up dude who truly wanted to help people - but at some point the church was co-opted by the CIA in order to experiment with how to control a population

i think Leo was seen as an opportunity only after he decided to visit Jonestown - i.e. the CIA took advantage of a chance happening to eliminate a threat to the CIA

the killing of Leo led to the closure of the op because of the public attention his death drew which, actually, i might guess that the CIA got what they needed out of Jonestown before Leo arrived, so nothing was really lost

then again, i might be entirely fucking wrong

I forget what I was drinking. But about Jonestown, there's a lot of weird shit involving Dan Mitrione. That, and Doctor Laurence Laird Layton.

and apparently may of the victims died of injections administered in their back (between the shoulder blades), or bullets

it seems almost certain that the CIA had some sort of interest in Jimmy and that relationship appears to go way back before the church if i remember correctly

then there's the drugs in Jonestown which are apparently reminiscent of MK-ULTRA

and the radio transmission after the mass-murder that was sent on a channel dedicated to the CIA

and Richard Dwyer who may have held a CIA post, but i could never pin that down - he peels off out of frame just before the bullets start flying at Port Kaituma ... and magically survives

there's several other pieces of evidence that link the CIA but i don't recall the names

Richard Dwyer was definitely there. Jones says in one of the tapes, "Get Dwyer out of here.". Dwyer was the CIA liaason in Guyana and south America.

It was all about MKULTRA.

oh, i'm not arguing that at all - he's on video tape at Port Kaituma - what i don't know for certain is whether he was CIA - i have not found any documents that prove that

Ive listened to all the tapes. The whole thing to me is way beyond interesting. It almost puts you there , especially the end where the kids are crying / screaming because they see their siblings being killed and know they're next. Chilling stuff

i've spent some time researching it about 2 years ago and i still think about it often - it's a completely fascinating story

missing body tags, murder, suicide, drugs, the CIA - one of the better mysteries of the 20th i think

It also seems like the guy was high on some kind of experimental drug near the end. Most of the recordings before Jonestown make Jim Jones look super energetic and charismatic leader yet when you see him near the end the guy looks like he's on something. Slouching, slurred speech, lack of energy, always in the shade with sun glasses nearly 100% of the time like he was on a SSRI or tricyclic with photosensitive side effects.

he was taking drugs, but i don't know about experimental - yes, the deterioration in his life is blatantly obvious

question is, why did he want to escape and what was he escaping from? himself, or something else?

i don't know about Jones' doubles being similar in appearance, but i think i recall him being seen in 2 different places at the same time - where or why, i don't recall
