He's pretty loose with his definition of "deep state" -- and there is such an entity -- so he might have been better served by spiraling out from the "shadow government" (jeez, has Wikipedia obfuscated that...). Then, you have to imagine a "rogue" state within that state. This assumes a Deep State Orthodoxy -- which is untenable given the size of the Deep State which he defines. I'd say there is a Deep State Orthodoxy and trace that to the lifers in the State Dept, but that's just my perspective. The TLA/alphabet agencies have differing slants: I hear the FBI is Trumpland; I hear the CIA are still Clinton's Invisible Assistants. Saying one or two is "rogue" risks overgeneralizing someone else's perspective. Remember: TLAs are the tools of "central enterprises", not ideological directors, like the 7th Floor Group.

Not necessarily. Enemies can be temporary allies when the benefits outweigh the differences. They may have preferred Trump given Hilary was damaged goods. Going forward... not so much.

A lot of people in this country are fed up with the bullshit 2 party system. Some of these people work for the state. I don't see this as a conspiracy, rather its just that part of the government actually cares about this country and its people.
