Wargasm

That's like waging war on simple addition.

Good luck with that.

Hmmm. So we're going to try prohibition of encryption now. Well they had such sweeping success with alcohol, pot, coke, and heroin, and those are things that you can physically touch. Should be easy enough to eliminate the 1s and 0s inside of practically everything right? Have fun looking through every picture on the internet for steganography and then trying to decode the encrypted data in the altered pixels. Good fucking luck. And how's shutting down the dark web coming along? Still no luck? Hmmm.

D-Wave computers yo. Unless crime syndicates get their hands on quamtuum computers and learn how to use them, this is absolutely a war that can be potentially won...

ShowMeYourKitties

And it is a war he will lose. You can't outlaw math.

BoraxTheFungarian

You apparently don't know about current events. D-wave quantuum computer can crack any code not made by a quantuum computer. And I bet Sessions is privvy to other knowledge as well.

ShowMeYourKitties

While there is a quantum effect with 8 out of the 128 qubits in a dwave..

128bits are not enough to beat common crypto methods using fast factoring

And the dwave isn't designed for general computation, it's designed for optimization. It actually doesn't perform at peak when doing things like this (because that's not what it's designed for)

And furthermore, if a QC were able to crack encryption, we would very quickly move to optimized lattice method encryption schemes.
