Well it is just in german and i don't know if it is available in any other language, but on wikipedia you can clearly see that the guy is still alive and campaigns against atomic energy...

So it seems in the 2000's he visited Pripyat and the inside of the supposed Steel-Concrete-Shell in Chernobyl, which had leaks everywhere and clearly survivable radiation.

The conclusion more or less is that 96% of the radiation was released and then there was just a cover-up and the new mantle the EU is paying for now is maybe just a cover-up.

Did they ever pretend that there was anything professional about the containment?

Chernobyl is already the greatest argument against nuclear power.
The people already know that huge amounts of radiation swept over Europe.
Would it really change that much if they now knew that it was way more radiation than previously thought?
