Was moniker "Operation Desert Shield" re-used to hide our operational failure? ( conspiracy )

submitted 2017-02-23T09:25 by ecksile

Several of "us" died in Operation Desert Shield. None of us had an illusion that it was righteous, we were committed at that point.

Why is it now that when you search for that term it is attributed to the insurgency? Is this an attempt to re-write history?

Bing:

What was Operation Desert Shield? Operation Desert Shield was a 2006 operation by the Iraqi insurgency and al-Qaeda in Iraq, planned in December 2005 as a push against American forces during the Iraq War. The goal was to destabilize the American foothold in the Anbar province over the course of six months.

Perhaps some of us should visit the people who write this history and correct the record for them.
