If it comes though a TV or is talked about by a Corporate front leader, it's a distraction or has an objective to manipulate.

000cccpcharm

we're really concerned about your naughty parts an what you do with them, we watch you masturbate, we steal cam videos of you and then we masturbate to you masturbating, it;s a perfect plan really

V01D3DR341M

They are actually saying that ISIS is planning something for July 4

Shakyamuni

Can you link me? I haven't seen anything.

Heinrich_Himmler

Checking in from the future, nothing happens.

Pyractic

The media won't shutup about it for ages aswell. Makes sense.

OftenTooRude

Listen, I can't prove this was just a coincidence, but like pornography, I know it when I see it.

UncleIroh

You're not paranoid. I think it wasn't legalized for that explicit purpose, but corporate media will use this opportunity to distract and divide the public, this is the perfect storm. Once this blows over, they'll move onto something else, something far less important, they'll probably go on for weeks about some stupid drama in the NFL or in Hollywood that no one fucking cares about. They don't need something this big to distract the public when they already can choose what content people pay attention to.

33degree

Timing is everything.

Mumberthrax

If there is anything to this concept, then I think it might be sort of the other way around regarding timing: this was scheduled in advance as others have said - the TPP has been rushed through, meaning that its passage would coincide with this decision - whatever decision was made was going to be headline news.

Telope

Ya think?

Deathstalker

Very distracting times for gay confederates.

HappyExile

You aren't paranoid, but you aren't right either. Scotus announces its most important decisions at the end of its term, which was yesterday, today and this coming monday. Regardless of the way their rulings went these cases were going to dominate the news cycle.

That being said, the administration certainly knew that these cases would capture public attention and seized on the opportunity to push through the TPP.

TL;DR - you have the causal relationship backwards.

RedHawk

This is what our society has become, the mainstream media makes it seem that gay marriage is more important that the TPP.

JediMaster_Bates

If anything, they delayed it to coincide with Pride Weekend. I buy the flag nonsense as a distraction, but as @NuclearTaco stated, this was coming.

lasercow

its exactly 2 years since the DOMA decision too.

paranoid and silly

SonOfApollo

It's not the fact of this happening that's fishy. Yes, it was planned waaaaay in advance. What is interesting to me is that this conveniently comes along to have everyone celebrating, which they should, but this celebration will allow essentially all discussion on the TPP and other trade agreements non-essential. Who cares about some trade agreement when the LGBTQ community is now recognized as an equal citizenry?

Regardless, I think this shouldn't have even been an issue. The last time gay rights were discussed like this, the Monsanto Protection Act was signed into law: http://www.globalresearch.ca/monsanto-protection-act-signed-by-obama-gmo-bill-written-by-monsanto-signed-into-law/5329388 . Here is the gay rights timeline so you can compare the timing: http://www.infoplease.com/ipa/A0761909.html

It's not the planned timing that's suspicious, since you're claiming paranoia over the fact that it's been "2 years since the DOMA decision too". You really have to remain calm and look at everything to even get some semblance of what's even starting to happen.

I've always said this, but now I'll say it on the internet and to a community I care about here at v/conspiracy: while we can speculate, it is very difficult to predict what will happen. Many logical fallacies can come into play if you try too hard to paint a picture of the future of our planet, especially since there are so many intricate and complex systems in place that make it difficult for the average person to understand. What we can do is be aware of what is happening as it is happening. This way we are informed enough to not have to buy into the flashiest and most appealing presentation. Life isn't always appealing, and this existence isn't always comforting and flashy.

That's the challenge we must uptake and carry with us every day. That is the essence of this subverse and this website as a whole. We must challenge what is being said, even if it currently makes coherent sense. By continuing to ask questions, we hopefully prevent ourselves from arriving at answers that are certainly not applicable to everyone, which is exactly who these trade deals will effect.

tl;dr If you can't take the time to read a community contribution, then please reconsider your position on why you are here on this website.

Edit: spelling

NuclearTaco

They heard both sides of the arguments late april/early may I believe and stated that it would be decided on this month.

This really isn't out of nowhere.

UncleIroh

Yeah, exactly, it's been in the works for a very long time, Obama probably rushed the decision so he'd have some small legacy for his presidency. If anything, it'll get all the people fighting for gay rights to refocus on other issues like the TPP and whatnot.

polkadotgirl

Not paranoid. This will dominate every news source for a while.

New_years_day

Yea, the circle jerk on reddit is in full force.

TKCHBL

It's the timing that is suspicious, not the mere fact of legalized gay marriage.

New_years_day

One of the chapters of the TPP will probably reverse this.....

SavePrivateRyne

Or give corporations the ability to nullify marriage licenses and charge couple based on predicted losses from nullifying said licenses.

New_years_day

lol

lasercow

2 years to the day since SCOTUS ruled on DOMA

VoatFuckingSucks

The timing of a court case that was scheduled way in advance is suspicious?

escapefromreddit

The TPP fast tracking would've been scheduled to fall around this announcement, not the other way around

Mumberthrax

I think the rush to have it fast-tracked to coincide chronologically with news of a major court decision on gay marriage is mildly suspicious. Something of a reversal from OP's question, but the same concept.

Kimmybjonsson

That could be explained by some state of the art planning, just to make the coincidence of two events less transparent.
