Who cares about anything anymore? Modern life isn't worth living anyway. You'll die someday even if you do everything right.

hoaxcroaker

Upvoated. I love the stuff compared to what we used to use.

You'll always need a certification body, it's for consumer trust, otherwise who tests who isn't cheating. In the USA you actually have a heap of organic certifying bodies, so each consumer can place their own trust level to an organic certifier.

Personally, if an agricultural commodity can get a biodynamic certification from a Demeter body, then I know I'm buying extremely high quality. No one goes through that amount of pain for shit produce.

The government via the USDA just sets the basics for what it takes to have the USDA Organic approved. Most certifiers will have their own organic branding and manufacturers can use one, the other or both.

Work in the industry, it's annoying, but otherwise the profit incentive, just like in sport, to take chemicals to grow unnaturally, That being said, USDA organic is a pretty lax standard and I don't trust them that much. Same for ACO (Australian Certified Organic) and the main EU body.

Most organic legislation started out at the insistence of some farmers, who wanted a legal way of immediately displaying to the customer was certified chemical reduced. A compromise i.e bribe was given by larger corporations to make the standards lax enough for them to produce their own "Organic" labels.

Glyophosphate has pissed me off for years as it shouldn't even be allowed to be manufactured.

lol kyuss fan ? :)

great post ! i hope people will see what their government is doing to them & i realy hope people will revolt against things like this . people have a right for clean air water & food and yes free electricity ! i hear allot of people talk about right for information en right for internet but i never hear them talk about the right for a decent normal healthy life.

fremar

lol i love all their albums , best desert rock ever ( together with los natas )

femtogression

Can you correlate these levels with pharmaceutical profits?

dkyuss

This sure would be interesting

femtogression

Yah that's the kind of question that gets people killed.

SaveTheChildren

They really do try to make us sick. not even tin foil hat territory anymore. We all would live longer healthier lives if we grew our own food and drank filtered water. Fuck the government.

heretolearn

think of all the land we could use to grow food and share with everyone if we got rid of golf courses and cemeteries. along with making water free, could change lives.

SaveTheChildren

Doesn't trump own a shit ton of golf courses?

I agree. I'm growing a large garden this year! If I could live without grocery shopping that would be amazing.

Eventually I want to raise some chickens for meat!

heretolearn

don't care who owns the courses. waste of land for a childish game where fat people consider themselves athletes.

I grew up tilling the dirt every summer in my parent's yard for their garden. we also had grape vines fruit trees chickens goats rabbits sheep pigs over the years. in the suberbs. it was fun. legit fresh food is always better. there is a huge difference in taste quality.

when will we start helping and stop hurting each other.

femtogression

They mostly succeed.

dkyuss

Im sure you could bath in it! LOL Why dont you try! You monsanto shill mo fo.

Not all soap is the same by the way. Some is very toxic as well. Your skin is your largest organ! http://www.ewg.org/skindeep/

fremar

this is why people use goatmilk in soap and shampoos etc. its very gentle for the skin. & natural.

femtogression

Safe enough to drink apparently, ask their CEO

dkyuss

Apparently we already are! It in the water supply. 700ppb is acceptable for USA. only .1 ppb for europe.

femtogression

And that's before you add it to the tea lol..

At least I try to grow my own weed.

Bridgeheadprod

So is this limited to produce? Or does it make its way into packaged or brand name foods?

dkyuss

It has made its way into the majority of our food supply (ie, what you find in the grocery store). EVEN organic!
If you check out page 5 here (page 8 of pdf) there are some samples. https://s3.amazonaws.com/media.fooddemocracynow.org/images/FDN_Glyphosate_FoodTesting_Report_p2016.pdf

Ashra

As a simple example- A lot of pesticides are used in corn. Corn is in almost every processed food.

onezeno

Roundup is used on soybeans, not corn.

Ashra

Witchdoctor

Excellent post. Eat organic y'all

Mylon

"Organic" is bullshit. That stuff gets sprayed with chemicals too.

Avoid grains. Grains the largest concentrations of this shit (like in the quoted Cheerios level).

dkyuss

Even better, eat your own organically grown food whenever possible!

Even commercial 'organic' products are testing positive at toxic levels. The 'full report' posted does sample several organic products as well... Not very promising results.

Strange coincidence, because I started getting this guy on my YouTube recommendations: https://www.youtube.com/user/urbanfarmercstone
