My Windows 10 laptop updated itself without internet access ( conspiracy )

Some of my neighbors have WiFi but I've never logged into any of them, in fact the laptop was in airplane mode for months.

Take you laptop, SMASH IT, buy a new computer with linux, buy an ipad or buy an Apple mac...never, never buy windows again especially never touch Windows 10...ever and i mean EVER

Just reformat and install linux, geez man. Or buy a new laptop HDD and install linux fresh.

I have Windows 10 also. Win10 can download updates when you do have internet access, then install them later.

Yeah, just around October was the last time I logged in, I moved into an apartment and made a point to download and fill my laptop with movies and tv shows I could watch off the net

I'm not sure "chatting" would do any good ..

I recently upgraded to Win 10 and the whole process has been a nightmare, except for the costs involved I would have thrown the whole thing out and gone back to XP which has been discontinued in any case.

The most awful thing is the "Save As" feature has disappeared from Microsoft Picture Manager, which to a user such as myself whose operation depends on numerous picture edits is a complete disaster.

The rot set in when Microsoft abandoned Front Page which was the best way for an independent operator to erect and maintain an internet site, whereas the edit function was as easy as can be and all it took was one mouse click to load onto the i'net.

Front Page was last updated in 2003, while cPanelX which dictates what programs can and can not be used on internet forums, decided it would no longer host FP in 2013.

So if you need to edit yr site you need to go to Filezilla which is not responsive to the 32 bit system that XP used, so you have to download a program called Cute9FTP which costs 65$ there after to do what you can.

I could do nothing due to the complexity of the program and had to pay a tech to come over three times at 200$ a pop to get the edits done, whereas the last time he was here two hours..

And after pocketing my money he told me he couldn't do it anyway since it would take too long, which at the 100$ per hr he charged would send me broke!

The bottom line is I can't edit my site , thanks to the powers that be at Microsoft and at cPanelX .. its a bummer.

yeah chatting could help except DownSatan won't listen, he's on a one way path to disorganized dysfunctional backwards Operating systems.

If i chat to the normal Satan he'll probably say something like "hey talk to DownSatan it's got nothing to do with me" but we all know who is pulling DownSatan's strings !
