Red mercury is a substance of uncertain composition purportedly used in the creation of nuclear bombs, as well as a variety of unrelated weapons systems. The existence of such substance has not been documented.

Writer Joseph P. Farrell has already written extensively on the topic of red mercury, most notable in his excellent book The Philospher's Stone: Alchemy and the Secret Research for Exotic Matter.

It would likely be an amalgam of either red phosphorus and mercury with a possible gallium component or nitric acid and mercury. Either way, it would be very dangerous and highly sensitive to temperature changes. If you ever see this stuff, don't walk away, RUN!
