Tancred

We don't know.

Tancred

I know. The question is what source is trustworthy on military sizes? Certainly not the CIA.

Tancred

Idk specifics. ((CNN)) claims that it's a top notch military power: http://edition.cnn.com/2016/12/06/asia/japan-military-pearl-harbor-anniversary/

Drenki

Shhhh... NK doesn't know yet

Tancred

Japan had the 8th largest military budget in 2008. Did something happen to their modern military since then?

Tancred

What would the USA gain from not telling the truth about this?
Who ever is shooting down these rockets is losing out on being perceived as a good guy.

ardvarcus

What would the USA gain from not telling the truth about this?

The method the US is using, particle beam weapon fired from a high-flying plane or a satellite, is top secret. They can't talk about it.

Tancred

It's so top secret, that you know about it.

Atarian

Who ever is shooting down these rockets is losing out on being perceived as a good goy.

Tallest_Skil

destroying a communist regime is what non-goyim want

Think harder before posting.

Atarian

Kek.

It was a play on words for fun, but if you think this really is what it seems to be, you might want to think a little harder yourself.

Tallest_Skil

I made no comment as to the OP or its contents. I replied only to your statement.

Drenki

Well, failed tests make NK look incompetent.

Shooting down their missiles would be illegal.

Tallest_Skil

There is no such thing as international law. It is not illegal.

Tancred

Shooting down their missiles would be illegal.

How is self defense illegal?

Drenki

They are just tests.

Tancred

If they're tests, it'd probably be illegal. I was assuming OP meant they were targeting something.

Diogenes_The_Cynic

I think its an intentional dampening of Japans militarism.

A friend of mine in my synagogue was an anthropologist, and he remarked that there were literally thousands of Japanese kidnapped by North Koreans in submarines in the 70's and their culture is not one that would stand down from an insult like that.

If the Japanese public were told that they were on the firing path of a missile once every month, they would be rabidly angry. But this is speculation on my part. It could be this or another reason, or multiple reasons.

But the news reporting that a missile fell into the ocean, and the fact that that news always comes from the military, its more than suspicious. They're 100% shooting them down, have done so for years, and are not telling people.

Tancred

Surely the Japanese military would know about missiles coming their way and being shot down by the US navy. Surely the Japanese navy has to know and approve of any US presence in their waters. Then the Jap navy generals could tell the public, if they chose to.

They're 100% shooting them down,

You're 100% sure from a speculation without any evidence? Not good.
