Good luck with the storage fees for the other 8 months. Much less the person willing to do an awkward lease for the time you'll not be in the rv. Either live in it yearound or buy a home. Rent is buying something for someone else.

No storage fees if you don't move out of the RV any time soon! I was suggesting that this economic "boom" was really masking the bigger problem of folks moving into temporary housing (in an RV) as a last resort.

Interestingly though, you cannot legally reside in a motor home anywhere in the country besides a permitted mobile home park, which are typically shit. Had friends look in to it years ago, best answer was 6 months in some counties, then move. Even buying your own land, it was written Rv may not be used for a residence or accessory dwelling.

The idea interests me though, would love to do it for awhile if anyone knows a legal way.

There are also recreational parks you can live in, but have to move from one to another often.

There is no way for anyone to find out if you keep your mouth shut and move every few days/weeks. WalMart allows RV parking, so all you need to do is move from one WalMart parking lot to another. This works real well for retired people, people that can work from home, or people that home school their children.

Interesting. I looks it up and it seems some counties, ca,ifornia in particular comes up, as having passed ordinances where you cannot park at Walmart or anywhere else overnight. Some said the laws said not between like 2 and 6 am... some of the Rv blogs I found said California and other states are becoming very RV unfriendly.

just like you cannot camp on your own land.

I should have realized that bylaws would get in the way! I guess staying on the move is the oonly way to make that work. Controlling what people do on their own land makes me crazy.
