I think it's just a show of how quickly trends can populate due to the hyperconnectedness of our world now. It was the same thing years ago with silly bands. Fidget spinners will probably die off within a couple months

It's incredible how they are everywhere seemingly overnight. I spoke to a independent toy shop owner where I live (really nice place with tons of high end games, models and toys) and they received a case at each location in an unmarked box out of nowhere that they had not ordered. Most everything is a waste of time until you decide what you want to do and do it. You probably never dreamed you'd grow up to Fidget Spin. Put them down and go after what you want.
