Anyone else notice the shift in tone on most of the major forums? Started a couple hours after this Seth Rich thing hit the fan. 4chans /pol/ is getting hit with a wave of slide threads and spam, and (possibly unrelated) their page load times have been a lot higher for me today.

If the stuff about the CIA owning a chunk of The Washington Post is true, then it seems pretty clear that they are burning the credibility of the outlet for a good reason. Their articles seem tailored to counter most of what we are hearing about Seth Rich and Trump today on the internet.

It seems very possible that the CIA is in full damage control right now, covering print, internet MSM, and forums.

I wonder, what could make the CIA go full retard like that? What is it that they would burn a 600 million dollar investment to keep quiet?

I think it's important to remember that the NYPD had the laptop before the feds got their hands on it. It's possible that a backup was made, either by internal decision, or a private decision. In my mind, it's likely that the laptop's contents are still out there duplicated.

Most media outlets have been tied up with CIA for decades. This stuff began in the 1960's. I seem to recall it was they who came up with the term 'conspiracy theory' and directed media outlets to use it on anyone who sought or spoke truth re: the JFK assassination. The directive was to use it as a term of ridicule, to discredit rather than to disprove. This isn't new. It's how they operate. That's within mainstream media sources, mind you. In the internet era, this extends to implementing algorithms to skew, mess with, alter, etc. what users can see on sites like 4chan, reddit, etc. I guess they've taken some of the paid trolls off of winding people up on Facebook to have them spam sites like these where real investigation is happening. Dirty tricks, but what do you expect. :(
