As a German I say: Enjoy your ugly american contraptions. More for us.

TimberWolfAlpha

I will. Enjoy your refugees.

They were one of several carmakers who have now been caught rigging emissions tests. Just the most widely publicized.

Fact remains they are still very good cars, if a bit overpriced in the US.

Trump should chastise American car makers for building vehicles to fail. I cannot wait until 3D printing gets to the point that I can print my own car parts. A plastic thermostat housing? Seriously? The cheap fuckers cannot even make it out of aluminum.

Trump should understand that the Germans have very good taste when it comes to cars, and they will not buy the cheap American shit.

Nice_Guy_Nationalism

What kind of American vehicle has a plastic thermostat housing? I definitely do not doubt you, I just want to stay away from it.

Mustang.

Or Hyundai maybe? Both, I think, were considered shit-tier 10-ish years ago, and have since become known for being solid buys.

Bet someone in their conference room is shorting the company and pushing for some weak-ass brake pads or something.

My hypothesis is that every car company starts off and builds its name to be "the best" before selling out and causing some kind of scandal they won't live down until every other car company has a scandal, then they have another chance at the top spot. Kind of a cyclic slow rise to greatness before selling out and making fools of themselves, and the cycle restarts.

Audi was there some years ago, now their cars are cheap shit. Toyota was there before that, and their cars accelerated out of control causing a news scandal, now their cars are shit.
