It's much more likely that Trump is being held hostage by shadow gov agents, holding whatever blackmail they have on him, telling him what to announce (virtually at gun point). This would be corroborated by the fact that Trump got into office by saying he will drain the swamp, then the first thing he did was hire a bunch of Goldman Sachs alumni, furthering and deepening their grip on congress and DC.

Based on BUSH/KISSINGER/CLINTON/OBAMA cartel actions, Trump is in over his head, just look at how controlled this cabal has the main (legacy/shit) stream media around their pinky finger.

They are all paying each other off to keep quiet, maintain the status quo, all while most Americans blindly watch their nightly news fix; trusting them, arguing with their family and friends about dems vs repubs, "another day another dollar" as they might say.

I'd have the utmost respect for the man if he could pull out of his current predicament, but his closest family members have been corrupted and are working against him for personal profit.

Having said all that, maybe he just needs to wait it out because I have been seeing a lot of whistleblowers and lakes (edit - leaks) claiming that the cabal is falling. Ex: Prince Philip retired?! When have you ever seen a British royal retire from public life? They are going into hiding because they are getting more and more pressure from good agents within each intelligence agency via leaks, but I wouldn't credit Trump for those heros.
