It's not the check for updates that is slow. It's applying the update itself. On win7 it mostly sleeps during that process.

Well it fixed both for me, checking and updating. I went from 2 hours to 2 minutes on two ,different machines with Win7 OS. Makes little diff to me if anyone else cares to try it. Your win7 machine sleeps during update? hello

My fucking laptop updates even when I'm away from all wifi. What is my computer actually doing? it's forced every time. I use windows 10.
