1 is ego. They will always goto this first.

2 is phishing. If they post weird links, especially in a PM, they are honeypotting you.

3 is ego. Not the same as #1 where they massage your ego into braggadocio. Ego like you think you know better. Ego can make you take on targets who aren't worthy or who might in fact be innocent.

4 is breaking your own rules due to #3.

5 is not establishing rules for yourself before you even begin. Simple rules like how long to spend online. How far away from home you should be when you connect.

6 is thinking you are clever. They have enlisted some of the best minds on the planet. And they have 24/7 teams and all the tools you do.

7 is not having insurance. Dead mans switches. Allies. An ace up the sleeve. (for example the intelligence report on the Dolphin Class Submarine that Israel used to fire a missile at the Pentagon from St. James bay)

8 is myopia. Once you have exploited a target step back and think about whether the target itself is worth blowing out or if it is a stepping stone.

9 is greed. Easy money is very often a honeypot.

10 is patience. If you don't have it, you will make a mistake.
