Humanity will end itself fighting for its own destruction. It's not limited to the left or right. Both sides have an unfortunate number of people who will die fighting for the destruction of themselves, thier families, and thier ideals.

AI that might defend humanity will be met with violent resistance and any reasonable AI will be like.."fuck it, these humans put down dogs that bite, and I'm further from humans than humans are from dogs."

Even if everyone agreed this cannot be stopped. AI will happen and that is the way tech works.
