You think? I'm pretty sure without websites like this, the government would still be able to tap our phones, monitor our emails, match up facebook/google/microsoft identities, etc.

My point was that through open communication with each other, we can become informed and unite politically to change things. Potentially... So in that sense, websites like this one empower the people.
