“The CIA currently maintains a network of several hundred foreign individuals around the world who provide intelligence for the CIA and at times attempt to influence opinion through the use of covert propaganda. These individuals provide the CIA with direct access to a large number of newspapers and periodicals, scores of press services and news agencies, radio and television stations, commercial book publishers, and other foreign media outlets.”

The Kubrick pill is quite a tricky one to get down....amazing films....maybe he was setting the agenda ....or maybe revealing it

HarveyHarveyJones

I have no hate for stanley. Fuck the rest though.

jeffwingersballs

how is Eyes Wide Shut not a warning to the masses

Judgejewdy

It could be. Oe it could be simply revelling in the shit. Though i'm inclined the think the former since he kept a closed set with body guards and was offed just after showing the first edit to the studio. Makes me wonder what was cut out.... :/

SynapticRevolt

Most of Kubricks works were in fact warnings.

Shiggz

Those videos of a young Angelina jolie confirms what we saw in eyes wide shut was very SOP in Hollywood. Then you ask yourself if That is mainstream then what are the more extreme of them doing? That's where pizza gate comes in.

Shiggz

Actually Eyes wide shut was the extremely toned down version of podesta world.

Child rape, torture, and sacrifice as a means to further their demonic power wasn't even addressed.

we_kill_creativity

There's a certain brand of "conspiracy theorist" that assumes anyone who is very successful must be one of "them". It's annoying, because we should be celebrating people who do genuinely good things with their work, like Eyes Wide Shut. The only question mark I have with Kubrick is Lolita. I tried reading the book not long ago and stopped after 75 pages because it made me sick.

jeffwingersballs

I'm not in a position to defend or attack Kubrick on Lolita. maybe another warning; maybe a personal indulgence. I will say this about the man: with movies like Dr. Strangelove, he took the source material and turned it on its head, mocking Soviet hysteria.

CotterPyke

Dr. Strangelove is one of my favorite movies, but Soviet hysteria was certainly warranted. The marxists won the culture war, just look around you.

Gorillion

Eh, Kubrick fled Hollywood. Probably with good reason. Spielberg is totally their boy though.

DasNincompoop

Kubrick was the guy who implemented revelation of the method.
