It has been thoroughly demonstrated that the plane in the Dutch travelers facebook photo is not the 9M-MRD plane that was flying that day. See below for mainstream link discussing as much, with speculation but no information on source of photo.

We know that Facebook strips EXIF data on upload so we can't confirm when the photo that was posted was taken. This does seem to be an important question to answer. Did Cor Pan download it from the internet? Did he take it on a prior visit to the airport? Did his camera phone survive the plunge?
