@axolotl__peyotl When I started v/traditionalwives , I was not prepared for the huge amount of trolls we were going to receive. In the very beginning, I removed some comments as well as submissions that were 'off-topic' or what I considered to be spam. @adhdferret explained to me that removing comments and posts wasn't the way to go about doing things and that it just pissed people off, that I couldn't seek that level of control if I wanted a healthy sub. Ferret advised letting the community decide what and wasn't appropriate for the sub by using the down vote system. I listened to his advice and messaged the Goats whose messages I removed and apologized and explained my ignorance- they all graciously accepted my apology and we moved forward. Since learning, I've only removed one thing which was child porn.

V/TraditionalWives ' co-owner @Le_Squish has had to remind me from time to time that free-speech is paramount and I credit her with helping keep our sub inline with Voat's ideals. The only time our modteam bans is for forum sliding and it takes an awful lot for @Trigglypuff to swing the hammer and it's safe to say we get a lot more trolls than v/conspiracy ...well, probably not anymore. You've put yourself on the radar now and the community is likely to test you now. My best advice to you is to not be a nigger and delete or ban and either fall in line with voat's free-speech ideals and take your lumps that are coming to you, or step down and allow someone else to take over. Like it or not, your reputation has been damaged and the only real way to improve said reputation to do what's best for the Voat community and v/conspiracy .

I'll throw my hat in. I will allow any and all speech, including racism, "hate speech", attacks on other users, and calls to violence. I will enforce Rule 1 ruthlessly, and will use it to ban anybody I think is a shill. I will pretend all future rules don't exist, unless any of those rules are "no shills". If I ever suspect that any of (creq, Balthanos, UserName_13, Amos_Quito, ShellOilNigeria, Celine Hagbard or Ambiguously Ironic) is posting here under their name or an alt I will ban them immediately and with great prejudice.

I am interested in the facts, and finding ways for society to move forward. For example, it is not enough to just say that the JFK assassination and 9/11 were conspiracies. You have to find the culprits, and their motives, and have to pursue some form of redress.

So if the major outcomes of 9/11 were the invasion of Iraq, and Afghanistan, an increased budget for the military and intelligence agencies, and the creation of the Dept. of Homeland Security, all that has to be reversed.

Or, if the motive for killing JFK was because he would have disbanded the CIA (and was only prevented from doing so by being murdered) then...

I was actually considering sending you guys a request to help mod earlier in the day, and then you posted this. Having watched both the conspiracy mod drama here and on reddit over the last few days, I would very much like to assist in actively modding this subverse in a fair and transparent way.
As a regular poster to voat, and as a long time participant / commenter on reddit, I strongly believe that voat is a great platform with many benefits over the critically corrupt corporate crypt known as reddit. I am hopeful that more people will move to voat as reddit is increasingly revealed to be bought out by the corporate elite.
It's essential that the mods at voat take a passive approach to moderation, only removing blatantly illegal content. Thanks to transparent voat tallies, I believe covert manipulation will be easier to identify than the shill activity on reddit. Therefore, I would promote free speech on /v/conspiracy , even for those with whom I disagree. I believe it is only through free expression that can we come close to the truth. We are all here to learn from each other. I also respect the voat admin's attempts to ask for community feedback before making changes, and I would strive to work with the mod team, and with the community members to provide respectful and fair moderation.
A quick look through my posts will show that I may not share the political or personal beliefs of the average goat. However, I would not let my personal bias determine my actions as a mod. I'm here to participate mostly as a peer, and I would take any moderation duties with humility.
You may also remember me from various /r/conspiracy posts, where I have attempted to subvert the shill strategy by anticipating their divisive script. I hope to help build a strong /v/conspiracy community here where we don't have to worry so much about corporate shills co-opting our threads. I would be a mod that encourages all people to participate, and promotes a unity of purpose; to uncover powerful truths about corrupt institutions. Oh yea and ancient civilizations!
