Russia is certainly modernizing their military and developing new technologies.

I'd take what the official Russian propaganda source says about their hardware with a grain of salt.

Intimidation with flexing of muscle and showing all that they are doing it is the purpose of Pravda.Ru

Can anyone confirm these dates? I'm on mobile right now. It seems extremely possible with the fact that the US government is moving their base in Colorado, spending trillions on nuclear research, etc... But I don't think I'll ever understand why these people do this...

Yes, it's an ongoing cold war. It never really ended. There's another article claiming russians are almost done developing a super disactivating weapon that could protect Russia from barely anything. I think maybe this US (and allies) vs. Russia (and its fewer allies) is, sometimes, a good thing; this balance may be preventing abuses from both sides. Who knows? o.O
