I'd imagine this is distraction material. Puerto Rico and Weinstein stuff would have probably normally happened, but the media laser-focuses on these non-issues and distracts us from what we really should be paying attention to; which is what really happened in Vegas. Even if we never get the absolute truth, the point is that we're obviously being lied to and that in and of itself should get most people fucking angry and more likely to do something. However, it just never comes to fruition..
