Ebola is not communicable by air, but that just means you can't get it by breathing the same air as an infected individual. If you were to aerosolize and disperse it, of course it would infect those who were contaminated.

EDIT: Yes, in the presence of infected hosts, I would wear a mask. Any painter's mask would do though, as you don't need to "clean the air of particulates," just avoid breathing any aerosols. That being said, AIDS (HIV) is not known to be so easily communicable, so ... better safe than sorry?
