Aint gonna happen from NK.

It's just not a feasible method of attack for NK.

But there are plenty of others who can benefit form such a ruse, inside the U.S. and outside.

And all the equipment that matters is safe, the only stuff that would be affected would be civilian equipment.
The only real effect would be financial and a small amount of damage if fires get out of hand.

Now, for those of you versed in the SSP, you would know a "manhattan project" level of action on the civilian grid has nothing to do with an EMP and everything to do with a system upgrade for expansion of COG operations.
It is also a massive boondoggle for people looking to profit from the supply contracts that would be issued from such a program.

Any materiel the NK's have would not be sufficient to affect much more than a large city, and there's no way the ballistic missile would be able to get into the needed airspace to be effective.
And if NK actually launched a ballistic missile on a trajectory that even has a sniff of U.S. territory Kim knows it would be an exceptionally stupid idea as the retaliation strike of non- nuclear missiles would be enough to cripple the country permanently.

And if you know anything about the U.S. power grid you'd know that while it is connected nation wide, it's not a singular network. All you'd have to do is disconnect the regional area of predicted affect and the rest of the network would be safe.

The real threat to the U.S. power grid is the horrid condition it's in and the continuing threat from the lack of fucks given by the energy providers.
This whole zerohedge report smells like big industry preparing for another gibs festival paid for by the taxpayer.

I bet they won't do shit though

VoatIsForTimmy

I wish I had painted by ceilings with a conductive EMI/RFI shield coating. I didn't because the shit cost $650 per gallon, for "Silver Lining", years ago. I suppose covering my attic ceiling with heavy-duty aluminum foil would help somewhat.

Its way more practical to have a sheilded cabinet or closet with emergency electronics. Anything actively plugged in to the grid will get fried because the wiring becomes and antenna absorbing energy from the pulse.

To do a whole room seems like something youd want drawn into the plans of your house, grounded wire mesh and all that.

I've heard that stucco works well if grounded.
