The Drug War is an assault on the civil rights of everyone living in this country and provides a clear rational for the continuing circumvention of the Constitution in the guise of "protecting" the nation. (- Just think about the precedent established by Civil Asset Forfeiture and how it is rationalized by a government that knows no bounds and obeys no master. )
