Hospitals existed for hundreds of years without an electronic medical system. Creating a giant, centralized database of all of our health problems will lead us down a dystopian road. The same idiots who are unable to protect Embassy cables, Equifax records or NSA secrets won't have much better luck protecting the GIANT OPEN HEALTHCARE DATA CORNICOPIA that we establish. After that gets stolen then out come the wolves.

the guy that created the 'medical doctor' used an od. he never used the md. ever. he didn't believe in it.

when the md was created it separated the whole person and replaced it with just treating the body and only with medicine. that is fucked.

Electronic medical records are the best. They help everyone. You have a good point about the dangers of them being hacked and used for bad. Would we even find out if they were hacked?

In my experience, Mr. Seagull, when somebody asks that particular question, the answer is that it's already been hacked.
