I don't see why Weinstein wouldn't be able to bounce back. He gave favors for favors. Spacey probably just has to lay low for a while too, since as far as I know, no one pressed charges, and Spacey diddling teenagers isn't as well known to the average person. My wife asked me the other day to remind her what Kevin Spacey did.

His words are being misconstrued.

He's not saying that Weinstein or Spacey deserve forgiveness, just that anyone who commits sexual assault shouldn't be damned for the rest of their life beyond any chance of forgiveness.

Christianity? What does that even have to do with it? Turning the other cheek has gotten us in a place overrun with non-Christians whose goal is to keep us as cattle or annihilate us, outright. Sure, forgive them and remove them from power. These comments make it sound as though there are just a couple of baddies who made a few mistakes, and if they are sorry enough, they might be able to work their way back to the top of the nice, clean industry.

Think about it, for a moment. The whole business is rotten, to the core. These guys made it because they weren't repulsed by the filth, and actually embraced it. How, exactly, are they going to clean themselves up and climb that ladder, again? You don't make it in Hollywood without paying your dues or being born into the cult. The price is high, and even those who start out with the best of intentions have to get dirty to make it.

What Cranston is suggesting is akin to saying that convicted drug dealers should be able to do their time, atone for their crimes, and make it back to the top of their gang. It's nonsensical.
