I've found somebody saying that the statue of liberty is the goddess Liberta (goddess Libertas) copied by Romans from the Greek, who copied it from the Egyptians, who copied it from Sumeres. Later it was used to concieve the virgin Mary. Basically the statue of liberty symbolizes the goddess of death Hecate.

Can anybody confirm?
