The problem with Gnostics is that their secret, sacred knowledge is for the most part - useless. Jesus took the time to come back again to deliver wisdom to some guy, but the wisdom did not include practical advice, such as how to build an internal combustion engine, a microwave oven; heck I'd be happy if Jesus invented the can opener.
