It is referred to as the worst disaster in "US" history. However, BP is British and the rig was in International waters. It was the worst disaster in UK history, it is just that their taxpayers didn't have to pay for the cleanup or the consequences.

Committed by American workers not following American work practices. You can blame the logo on the side of the platform all you like, it was still an American accident.

Would you like to hear what Vacuum/Standard/Exxon-Mobil have had to clean up in the ground around my local area since they fired up the refinery in 1918? Should i blame the head office in the US or the local workers here fucking up? (I dont need to, theyve spent fucking tens of millions regenerating the land around here in the last decade or so and directly give cash grants to every local school kindergarten sports teams etc... but those reparations are also done by Australian workers. Not americans)
