You know those two terrorists in the van? One of them is actor Richard L. Duran. Richard Duran's father was a hollywood stuntman, who served in the US Navy.

And the co-writer Bob Gale? He's an alumnus of the Phi Beta Kappa Society, a fraternity that claims "Since the Society's founding in 1776, 17 U.S. Presidents , 40 U.S. Supreme Court Justices , and more than 130 Nobel Laureates".

In those names, you'll find both Bill Clinton and Bush Sr. From the list of supreme court justices, you'll note their their membership included Stephen Breyer, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, David Souter, Anthony Kennedy, William Rehnquist, and John Paul Stevens.

Why is that significant? Well, in 2001 at the time of 9/11, Phi Beta Kappa alumni held a standing majority on the Supreme court of the united states. The same frat that writer Bob Gale attended at USC. And who else attended USC? None other than the director, Robbert Zemeckis.

Hollywood is very interconnected with politics, and it all ties back to academia.
